We Don't Want To Say Goodbye
It’s that time again
You have to leave
We embrace briefly
We look at each other
And smile
I feel the tears
But the smile stays
Those tears - always the tears
I don’t want her to see the tears
We’re still smiling
We turn around and walk away
The words never came
They never do
So much I want to say
It’s not goodbye
Not really
We’ll be together next year
The time was precious
I love you
I love being with you
The unspoken words
Are said in a parting gift
From you to me
My wonderful flowers
You know me so well
I will care for them
I will love them
I will look at them
And think of you
And smile……
To my daughter, with all my love always...

The agony of goodbye and the promised joy of reuniting.
"Parting is such sweet sorrow."
I hate to say goodbye to tulips. They are a beautiful spring flower. But it seems they come and go so quickly. But I look forward to seeing them next year.
Beautiful poem!!
So very sweet!
very well written indeed
Stopped by and liked.
Saying goodbye is so difficult, especially to your daughter or son. You never know if its the last goodbye.
You have captured that feeling beautifully.
The words never came
They never do
So much I want to say
Oh, I know this feeling so well.
Thank you Movie Master, I look forward to reading more of your hubs.
Oh you are so right movie master we sure have the same thoughts when it comes to our children. A beautiful poem with much heart. Thank you. I look forward to reading more.

Hi Movie Master,
This Hub really hits home. I've said this kind of goodbye to my son when he moved to California (I live in Kansas) and I didn't know when or even IF he'd be back at all. Turned out okay. He moved back to Kansas before his classes were done and he finished up here at home. (:
I feel for ya, duckie. I really do.
May peace be in your heart...always, even when you and your daughter are apart.
Diana
Beautiful poem.
Beautiful!!
You're welcome!!!
Very beautiful poem.I love it.
What a lovely poem about something that most parents have to experience. i've got one daughter in her own place but her sister has concreted herself into the floor of the front bedroom and looks set for the long haul (bless her). She's only 21, so i'll keep the crowbar in the tool shed just for now. Cheers
Very beautifully written poem, loved it
Movie master , How is it the greatest words of love are never spoken .....But they are always heard clearly , I heard you here and I could see you leaving!....Awesome.
such a wonderful poem..you must be a good mother.
Yes, sometimes saying goodbye can be supremely challenging. Often we will say 'see you soon', or 'see you later' instead to save the finality of a solemn goodbye. Nice hub.
Great work MM, lovely and awesome. Voted up and awesome
MM, you and your big heart! What a great poem. It is never easy to say goodbye. Over the years growing up. it was always one after the other leaving, almost makes you feel it is unfair, but that is life. I really enjoyed it. Voted up and across.
Great writer, unspoken love is the norm for today, we love our kids but as they get older we may not tell them like we did when they were little. Same goes with other special people in our lives. I was reflecting the other day and realized that I loved everyone from my past, I thanked them in my mind for being part of my life and the gifts they gave to me.
Hi MM, its indeed a very sweet poem. Very very well written my dear. I love it.
Voted UP & Awesome.
Take care. Best Wishes.
With a farewell to make next April I enjoyed your article. I simply don't know how my husband and I are going to cope. Having to move away from where my children and two grandchildren live is beyond me.
Thanks and I hope you can adjust to your daughters move.
Beautiful. I felt this way everytime I visited with my grandparents. In the back of my mind, I always wondered when we said goodbye if it would be the last.
Yes,We don't want to say goodbye, really nice and interesting post
